Im in process of restoring a 72, then this 73 came up for sale not far from where I live......I couldnt talk myself out of buying this too, wife not entirely onboard yet.
Fender tag lists it as an A57 Rallye ( to the best of my knowledge, which isnt much), but had a couple of questions some of the more you knowledgeable people might know. It was restored about 20 years ago, last owner had it 7 years. Anyway, had a question on the dash, this came with a standard dash, was told it's always been like that. Did an A57 package possibly come with a standard dash or did it get replaced at one time? Also, did the rallye come with fender scoops and the strobe stripes or was that an option?
Had a 73 rallye back in 80's, same color as this "new" one, but that one had the rallye instruments and scoops and stripes. Thinking about adding those items to this "new" one....TBD
Now, wait for spring to come so I can drive it. I was impressed though, it sat out in the trailer over night in -10F weather before I could get it stored......started right up.

Every A57 I have been around had the fender scoops and strobes.
That is only a few so there may be more to this story.

The first thing I would do is look under the seats, look in the seat backs and above the glove box and see if there is a broadcast sheet in the car. That might shed some light on the exact options for the car.
Can you please post the fender tag information, that could help also.

Great looking car by the way! Super cool it started in negative degrees, doesn't get better than that.

All the A57s I've seen had the scoops and strobe stripes too, but with Chrysler, you never know. They made some odd balls throughout the years.

Cool! Thanks for posting. Very difficult to read.
Plus red is about the hardest color to photograph a fender tag in.

Has the A57. JH23H3B299377

I can't quite tell, is it FE5 and FE5 ?

Perhaps there is a stripe delete code on the car that would explain why no scoops.

Ya, even trying to read it without a camera picture is hard, probably 2 or 3 coats of paint on it, and the lighting in the garage its stored at is not all that good. I couldnt find a build sheet in the seats or glove box either.

Any way to type the Fender tag for us? We trust you. 😀 Will make it easier to decipher! And I can tell it's an original fender tag already.

Nice Challenger, I think all the rallye’s had the nicer dash cluster, bulge hood, scoops and strobe stripes.
Not 100% on that though.

So here goes, I had to remove fender tag and brush off the rust on the back. Paint is so thick that I cant make out numbers on the front of the tag.
1st line: N42 N85 R11 V6X EN2
2nd Line: G36(i think or C36) J52 J54 M08 M21 N41
3rd Line: FE5 U A57 B41 C16 C56
4th Line: FE5 A6X9 000 118 312412
5th Line: E55 D34 JH23 H3B 299377

Some numbers Im aware of, FE5 is color, E55 is 340-4bbl, D35 727 torqueflight JH23...challenger hardtop?? Others, not sure

Thanks, explains quite a bit. Think I'll be looking at installing a rallye dash ( I rebuilt the dash for my 72, think I can use that, then find another rallye gauge cluster for the 72 when I get to finishing that car), then I'll have to find the fender scoops too, and buy a stripe kit....fun, fun
