Sorry to ask something that has probably been beaten to death. I have a 70 Cuda. I have the MBM drum to disc conversion kit. I have a 70 Cuda.

1. The MBM kit shows having the caliper to the rear of the wheel. (The welded-on bracket for the brake line is towards the rear of the wheel) (Pictured)
2. Official Chrysler shop manual shows the caliper to the rear of the wheel.
3. My car came with a set of spindles in the trunk that look like they came from a junk yard (pictured). Caliper goes on the front.
4. Ehrenberg Disc O Tek says to put the caliper of the front since he says the brake lines will work better.

WTF? Front or Back? Thanks in advance.

Katfish that is interesting....

I use the 70 Plymouth SM for Belvedere Fury Barracuda and Valiant. I do have a Fig. 8 Removing and Installing brake shoes. It looks to me like the caliper is in the rear, however the (same shitty) picture shows the brake hose connector on the front side -- but I don't think that's right. I do believe Ehrenberg knows what he's talking about. Looks like the front is correct. TY.

Every E body I have ever owned has had the caliper in the front. I have an untouched Challenger right now (at least untouched since 1984) and it is in the front.

I never gave it a thought but my car came with the upgrade and there in the back. There's stainless hoses on it too and there's lots of slack but they could just be generic. Doing some research to resolve a caliper rattle I surmised that there basically a Mirada/Cordoba set up so any e body reference was mute.

After seeing the brake pads are riveted on my car. I brings up experience I had or should say didn't have.
AS I said before I have driven a number of miles for work. let alone work 10-12hrs a day or more. My work car would trip a 1k a week. The guy that does my state inspections would slate out half day to do mine 5-6 on the road. So one time we got into a discussion of bonded or riveted brakes. I said I preferred the bounded over the riveted. He preferred the riveted. So a month or so goes buy. I went to get an other car on the road. I think the reason was 3 of us driving 6 cars on the road Nobody had a reason to miss work!
What happened. The car sat for awhile. Moved the car a few times as we where working on it. The front brake pads came off. o_O🤔
So that made me change my mind. I also have turned drums and rotors for trucks buses and others. Also relined brake shoes for trucks school buses and other equipment.
Talk about a brain dead brain fart I should have known better. So for now on I get riveted when available.

RTA that is damn nice. What do you call that yellow stuff on the nuts? I see you do have the riveted brakes. What is that stuff around the hub. Is that an abrasive? Your pad looks pretty close to the hub. Also, I bought the MBM kit with the Chinese junk. Are the spindles supposed to be exact copies of the Mopar spindles? Should I search for Mopar spindles? How do you get the part numbers for the pads and bearings they send out if I didn't want to use Chinese stuff? Thank you.

Oh.... just one more question. Should I just throw out my old drum setup? Would anyone want it? B.
