Im considering installing the EDL-2049 Top End Kit on my 340. 340 was rebuilt to stock about 3,000 miles ago, and lacks some power. Has anyone heard feedback good or bad on the this kit or any Edelbrock Top End Kits?

Just looked at the kit online. The camshaft is a little weak in my opinion (I'm a big Lunati Voodoo cam supporter). But it would probably do what they say - make 417hp.

Power is subjective. What kind of car is it? What transmission do you have? Rear end gearing & tire size? Do you have stock exhaust or headers? Type of carb you're running. This info could help us help you!

What compression pistons in the rebuild? Stock 73 were pretty wimpy and the top end combo you're considering will suffer.

Assuming that's with the Edelbrock heads and MSL head gasket you've chosen, if it was me, I'd get the Edelbrock heads, RPM air gap intake and a Lunati camshaft get! Something in the . 513/.533 lift range (704).

For one I would go with the Edelbrock 650 AVS 2, much better carb than the 626.

I would pass on the Eddy heads , $$) source are better & less cost or spend more & get better heads such as Trick Flow
& a Proform Carb over any Eddy carb
