After looking at 68chicken's tread and checking Ebay prices I went and made a deal and bought it. some local's told me i wase nut's the market is soft and i payed way to much. but after seeing the bid on a 340 auto on column dark green 70 for more than i payed and the reserve was not met, I feel pretty good about my buy right now.

I think you did well, if it makes you feel better I bought a 1970 Barracuda off Ebay thought it looked ok in the photos paid $5000 for it another $5500 to get it to Australia (shipping, taxes, fumigation, etc) it is just a BH 318 car and I have to replace nearly all the sheet metal and it didn't even have an engine.

even if you give the GM products away for free to make room for the Cuda still a good deal.

No this car is to nice to touch! it's ready to go as is. that is what i like about it, i guess the old story about the shoe maker's kid go's bear foot is true in my case because my 70 challenger R/T S/E has been untouched for a year now and not sure when i will be able to get to it. plus i realy wanted a 4-speed again wasn't the phantasm cuda a 71

it was, but I thought you were looking at a 72-3 to turn into a phantasm clone (maybe was another member) this was a couple of months ago.
Congrats on the 70! Where did you find her?

Really nice looking car! First thing I'd do is change out that upper radiator hose.
