Hello everyone. My name is Brad and I'm located in Burbank Ca. I'm new to the forum but not new to Mopars. I currently have a '73 Challenger with a Mopar 414 stroker, A518 trans and RMS suspension F/R. There's more but that should be enough for an intro. :happy3: I look forward to chatting with everyone.

Thanks everyone!

Moparleo, the A518 conversion wasn't too terrible. I know there are others out there that have kits do this but after looking and measuring my rig, I decided I wanted to do it myself. My biggest concern was if their kit allowed the proper drive shaft angles. Maybe they work ok, don't know. For me, I had to massage the tranny tunnel to allow clearance in a few spots, cut and box in the welded in cross member and make a new tranny mount. I have a shop with a vehicle lift, CNC plasma cutter and lots of tools so it wasn't much of an issue with me. Oh, and the speedo cable was too short to work without kinking the cable so I had a new one made here in SoCal. I think it was $60 or so. Not too terrible. I have a light on the dash that tells me when the OD kicks in but I need to find a lighted push button switch to disengage it when I don't want it. Someday....

rbbruno3, good eye! I couldn't figure out how to delete that one pic so it remains. That pic was taken when we installed the Billet Specialties serpentine system. The Alterktion was installed after.

74chlngrTT5.9, I'll be there. I missed the Fall Fling a few months ago but was lucky enough to receive 3rd place in E Body Modified last spring fling. My car has been on quite a few of their mailers too.

Cool,

I plan on having mine there this year. As I have a lengthy transformation build going I have to keep myself from stepping into anything too deep. Missed 2 years in a row because of trying to get too much done on it.
Not going to happen this year.

Will try and look you up.
Mike.

Do you have any pictures of the conversion ? Do you have a solenoid to engage the o/d or are you using a manual switch? Radio shack has illuminated switches with different colored lights in the switches. Red, green, blue.

Pics of the tranny install? I do somewhere. Gotta find them. Right now, I just have a pressure switch to engage the OD. No switch anywhere which is what I want to change. I know about the Radio Shack switches but I'm looking for something different. Someday....
