Here is a odd story. My Angel once lived in Utah ARCO at one time?. Parents worked at Atomic city. Then she was working for company That sold the franchises for Subway. She had lunch with Fred Daluce at a luncheon with her boss and others. The owners father, I'll call him Jack. He worked in the administrative capacity. Jack was retired from an electric utility co here. So as they talked, they found out that they were in the same area at the same time. He was actually riding a bus to Atomic city every day by her house. Jack was a very interesting guy to talk too. He was UDT that's before SEAL'S where SEAL'S. If I have that correct. He worked directly with Admiral Rickover. This is a salute to jack.

I'll keep this short. A neighbor of mine Jim was in world war 2 US Army. He told me about Burma road when he was there. He took a blast from a Jap grenade when he was there. Lost most of his teeth and facial burns. His family wind witch back to health. Not a mark on him, from what I can see. My son was about 5 or 6 at the time when we got to know him. He treated my son like he was his own. A very nice guy. I would say to my son. don't tell you mother ( treats). He had 2 wives over the years. Both passed away. Almost every day he would make a trip to visit them. If I was not working and he was late I or my wife would call his children. They were always so great full. They all treated us like family. Like wise. I always cut his grass an cleaned his walk. It took only 10min. I just thought that's what neighbors do. But he had a snowblower and he liked running it and I would let it be at times. I have to say I am so glad we got to know him. My son remembers him to this day. That is so important to me he has that connection. He also is very respectful. Jim was 85 when he passed away about 25 years ago Considering what he went through. He didn't seem bitter to the Japaneses. I was taking to him one time. He said they were just doing what their Government was ordering them what to do. and now there just trying to make living. I think he found his peace.

So this is a salute to him! Thank you for your service Jim.
