Hello, I talked My friend into Keeping His 70 Gran Coupe. But He had a Major fun time getting the K&N Oil filter off. It takes a 1 inch 6 Point Socket to get the Filter off with the 1inch hex head bolt on the front of the Filter. But the filter felt like it was glued on. The Socket could not Budge the filter. He tried a strap wrench, and an Oil filter wrench. But the worst problem was there is hardly any room to move a filter wrench due to transmission lines, Pulleys and the lower radiator hose. I tried to help, but there was no room for My hands. My wife told Me to try an old stocking and put it around the filter. I did that and I was able to fight and get the Oil filter wrench behind the lower radiator hose. I had about 3 inches of Space to sinch up the Oil Filter wrench and go counterclockwise. I felt like I was going to snap my wrist. Finally, I broke the torque. But I could hardly move because the lack of Room. It was a slow process, but I finally got it off! I told him to get a Wix 51515 Oil Filter. It has knurls on the front of it, so an Oil Filter removal tool will grasp the knurls and make things much simpler with a ratchet. By The way, This Motor was just rebuilt and the Engine Builder installed the K & N Filter while the Engine was out of the car.

He probably used a 1" box wrench, which is very long, and just muscled it on. He didn't want any leaks.
