Im in a predicament here and hoping you guys can help me choose the correct path. 2 days ago I purchased a 2011 Grand Cherokee with a 5.7 in it. I heard the Jeep accessories worked a bit better so I figured that was the way to go. Yesterday a 06 SRT8 Chrysler 300 popped up. It’s going to be $3000 more then the Jeep I bought but has a little less km on it.
My question is this - for those of you that have experience is there any benefit to one of the motors over the other outside of the hp bump the 6.1 gives? With the money I’d save with the Jeep I could do a full rebuild on the motor and maybe squeeze a bit more reliable power out of it to come close to the 6.1. But I feel the 6.1 has a cool factor to it and more potential down the road.
The car is currently a 318 with a 727 trans. I was debating if the Nag1 trans is a positive or not as I searched a few threads on here and it seems it complicates the wiring and there are other trans that make more sense.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I’m trying to figure out if I should just go with what I have or try to flip the Jeep and grab the 300 srt8.
