I know guys up here in Canada who have bought classic cars from Arizona, Florida and Texas. If they were hell bent on something they found a reputable local appraiser to go and look at their pre-purchases...Detailed (thru the ringer) pre-purchase appraisal was around $300.00 or so I believe. Cheaper than an airline ticket and hotel...just saying..

PS...In all cases they found solid reputable appraisers thru local car clubs to where the car was located...
