Hi, I'm new to the Mopar world though its been a dream of mine to build my own mopar muscle car forever. I recently bought a 1975 440 block that I plan to put in either a challenger or cuda. I know I'm a long way from that though. I was hoping for some suggestions on internals for the engine. Like what parts to use and what not to use. I was going for a street/strip application. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Stock, mild, wild? What are you looking to do with the car? You only have a block? What about the crank, rods etc?

I would say between mild and wild. Just a cruiser with the power to throw you back in the seat. Yes as of right now i only have the block I was waiting for info on the internals before i made the wrong move.

Well my plans were just a sharp car that looked and sounded good. But then that progressed into like 800+ horse and the occasional strip appearance haha. Any suggestions on part brands?

The next question I have is do you want naturally aspirated, supercharged, turbo'd? Answering this will determine pistons and what compression ratio you're going to be looking at. It's also a little "easier" to build that kind of horse with a supercharger or turbo (s).

Let's read a vision of what you're looking for. What are you dreaming about with this engine, besides the horsepower figures.

But running with what you've got I can go into some of the basics. Anyone help out here if I'm missing something or if you have ideas.

Find a good machine shop, one who specializes in Mopars, near you. Have that block sonic checked right off the bat and see if it's going to hold to that kind of horses. Make sure it's decked and squared and capable of being pushed to 500" with a good internally balanced, forged crank stroker kit. Just for durability's sake I'd even go cross bolt mains. H-beam rods with high pressure cap screws.

Well I was hoping to be running off 93 octane or E 85 basically just keepin it pump fuel. If I was gonna go with any aspirations it would definitely be turbocharged. I was also debating on the 6 pack option just didn't know if that would be overkill. The stroker kit your talkin about what would be some good brands to start looking into? And how big of a bore and stroke are we talkin about? I planned on hot dippin my block this coming weekend. Then I could take it to a machine shop nearby to get sonic checked.

Another question the stock heads I got with the block I'm gonna dip them too but will I be able to use those or just get new heads?
