I have a 72 Challenger with non-rallye cluster and am considering upgrading to the Dakota Digital cluster but going with a rallye. Besides the obvious differences in wiring, what would the change entail?

Nothing to the metal frame of the dash. I did that to a 71 Cuda, non rally, to a 72 Challenger Rally.

I did a Standard OEM dash to Rallye OEM dash conversion on a 1970 Barracuda and had to change the oil pressure gauge too. I don't know if that's required with A Dakota Digital cluster.

You will need the AC/heater switch panel. Non rallye has a notch for the big speedometer. Also light bar on top has 4 bulbs not 3 on the rallye. I think the 3 light one still fits though.

As far as the wiring goes; did you cut off the original connectors (for example the turn signal indicators or the fuel level) and then run the wires to the "brainbox" or did you solder a wire to the existing OE wire and run that to the brainbox?

I used the wiring harness out of the 72 Chally to put in my 71 cuda. The challenger had AC so a lot of extra wiring and automatic.

I just had my 70 Chall converted, but I used all analog gauges. I paid a shop to do it, since I didn't have the time or the patience to do it correctly. Cost a pretty penny but it looks AWESOME.
