Hey all, I'm looking to convert my non Rallye gauges to the Rallye style. I'm doing a hellcat swap and want the nicer gauges from dakota digital. Wiring harness doesn't matter to me as I'm Wiring the car with a harness from american autowire.

Does anyone sell the cluster parts to do this conversion?
I have searched but all I find are posts about converting the entire dash, not the gauges/cluster only.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you,

Dakota only includes the gauges. I still need the housing that holds the gauges and switch bezel I think. I found this but not sure if i need anything else. Seems expensive to me.

Not sure what else i would need.

Maybe they sell a gauge-only kit, good to know. The RTX shows a cluster housing. If you need the OEM cluster housing, ebay may be an alternative, since the housing doesn't show, you can buy a crummy-looking one for less. But vintage rallye cluster parts are in demand and not cheap.

When I called them, I was told they only show the wood grain bezel for display. When you purchase the gauges you only get what is pictured above. I need the housing any any additional trim pieces.

Bingo. Now I understand. I was presuming the housing was this (shown with clock gauge):

Here is a breakout from the Dealer Parts Book. So, you're looking for the parts in the foreground, the Bezel (8-37-90) with Plate (often paired with 8-37-90), and likely the left-side Bezel and Plate? Do you want and have the left-side switches behind Bezel 8-53-294?

Not shown by the image above, is the light bar above the gauges under the lip of the dash pad, but you may not need that since the gauges are self-illuminating. You still may want it so the assembly looks complete.

Just my 2¢. I refer to that as the surround. 8-37-90. And the surround wood plate. As far as the gauge housing. I refer to it as the gauge cluster with all the gauges. That could be wrong.

Dakota digital Rallye gauges look great and function properly. I went with white facings. If I had to do it all over again, I woul've waited for the black facings but they were 9+ months out for delivery. Classic Industries have replacement gauge/switch panels. I changed them all so fitment issues didn't arise. Everything went back together well. I had a custom shop install the wiring to convert on my 72 Barracuda.

How did you make out with this?

I did it awhile back and another piece you'll need is the metal backplate that holds the switches in place on the rallye bezel as the standard one won't work. I picked up a used one from eBay.

I used my light bar from the standard gauges but will most likely not put any lights in it as the gauges from Dakota Digital are well lit already.
I think it is well worth doing.

A standard dash switch plate can be made into a rallye dash switch plate.

I had a custom shop install them and they scratch built the support bracket. I am sure it isn't exactly stock but everything is firmly mounted. My light bar even works, but like you said. The gauges are well lit. Whole installation cost me 3K labor.

For those who have changed from non-rallye to rallye instruments via the Dakota Digital package, I need some help.

I bought the Dakota Digital cluster for my 72 Challenger non-rallye to convert it to rallye instruments. I also bought the plastic bezel (2 piece) and the flat wood grained "plate". The plate does not appear to attach to anything so wondering if it's glued onto the bezel once the plate is gently bent to conform to the curves?

I didn't use the Dakato Digital package so I don't know if perhaps you also need the metal backing plates with it. You didn't mention having those in your post

I actually have the woodgrain plate, but my question is how to attach it to the plastic bezel. Thinking it must be glued but not positive.

The metal backing plates attach to the plastic bezels first. They have tabs that align with slots in the plastic bezel then the tabs are twisted to keep the plates in place. Then the woodgrain is glued to those metal backing plates. That’s how I did mine anyway.

Thanks for the info. Did you use any special type of glue for that?
