Parasitic drain

All of a sudden my 1972 challenger has developed a parasitic battery drain of 5.2 Amps. I have checked all fuses but no change in the continuous power draw. Any ideas of the most obvious next step

Sounds like you have eliminated the fused circuits, disconnect the alternator output wire at the alternator to eliminate a shorted diode. Any aftermarket ad-on loads at the battery or the “batt” tap at the fuse box? From there I would disconnect the ignition switch Molex, then on to the bulkhead connector, one at a time.

I would also disconnect the red (+) from the starter relay post to make sure there's not a small electrical problem before that connection.

The alternator appears to be the problem.
