If it’s original I would try to keep it. If it’s only loose, and not leaking like the Exxon Valdez, You should definitely try adjusting the adjustment screw. Snug it up, and back it off a little. If it’s too tight it will bind when you turn sharply. It may take two or three times to get it right.
Also the column to box coupler can be very sloppy and they don’t last very long after rebuilding, so I would recommend a steering u-joint replacement similar to this:

I don’t remember the diameter and spline count, but I replaced the Mopar coupler on two of my Dodge trucks and it was a great improvement.
