I came across this 70 Challenger I found in phoenix a few weeks back.
I was putting together to make a Survivor driver out of it.
It has the Orig #'s 383 Engine with 4 speed Trans

Previous Owner pulled engine to paint compartment and sanded pass stripe off and did Dutchman & trunk pan said he lost shop so had to sell.
Story was it sat for years from 1st owners son passing then finally sold.
The rest is solid underneath. Still has Orig Dodge exhaust & mufflers on it.
He laid Engine back in and didn't hook any accessories up. that's how i bought it.

Tank was out and cleaned, He had Carb, Exhaust, pulleys, belts, rad, bumpers, all disconnected.
Rear shocks were missing. Front and rear valance half installed.
Not vinyl top car, pervious owners fixed roof dent.

So far i did
New mini Starter, " was kicking out" decided new one was needed.
Alternator was painted blue and not charging so replaced, with voltage Reg,
New Cap, rotor, plugs, points ,has a set of wires, New fuel filter, fuel pump & tank Sender installed, gauge now works.
Installed New rear shocks & rear exhaust hangers.
Now Running and moving,
Orig Bumpers were Rechromed & installed.
Found NOS 383 magnum emblems for hood ordered, were missing
one challenger fender emblem ordered, half missing broke
Have New Windshield and rear glass in box.

Next is Dash install & Windows.

Plan is to order New white R/T stripe kit for pass side. Paint Roof, below bodyline stripe area & polish the rest. keep as much Orig as i can.
I think he never should have sanded stripe off he said the same thing, he had plans on painting entire car was body man.

Try to keep all of the original paint original. Just have the removed paint corrected. Then replace the stripe with a NOS stripe.

Frank Badalson can correct that paint, that is what he specializes in, survivor cars.

It's worth seeing what it would take to correct it with someone that knows what they are doing.

Don't take it to some regular body shop or restoration shop, they will tell you anything you want to hear and mess it up some more.

Keep it as original as you can.

R/T Specialties - for fasteners/clips

Detroit Muscle Technologies - for weather stripping, gasket sets, plugs, etc
