A friend who retired from his job at a Chrysler dealership told me once they were just getting fit & finish ironed out by the time the '74's started coming out but that door gap isn't terrible...probably the way it was stamped. Usually, it's the top of the door that's more notable and noticeable when the hinges start going but we have gotten spoiled... Look at any late model F-150 and you'll find the lower beltline starting on the fenders doesn't line up with the doors...

Interesting. You would think that the manufacturers would have gotten much better by now with panel fitment.
