I'm looking at the rear trim on my Cuda and it's faded finish. Can I remove them and use a buffing wheel to make them shine ?

I held a magnet to them, they aren't alum.

Any advice would be great.

Thank you in advance.

Clarify which style of trim you are working on.

The anodized aluminum style on the left will not polish up because the anodized finish is delicate. You can lightly buff it but be careful as anodizing is ultra-thin.
Alternately, you can remove the anodizing and buff out the aluminum or have it re-anodized. It will not be stock but can look much better than scratched or faded anodizing. LINK
EDIT: I checked and you can get new anodized mouldings at least one source, maybe more. LINK

The stainless 1970-1971 "Cuda" trim the right can be sanded, dent repaired, polished, and buffed.

Thank you for the information, I think I can at least try to polish them.
I think it may look better than stock.
Worst case, I'll have to buy new.

I stripped the anodizing off mine and polished the aluminum. Looks good but not as shiny as anodized. But better than it was
