Yes, you need the cable shown in the first photo to adjust the seats!

On my 73 Barracuda the return springs are the same. My seats don't have any cable that will release the inner seat track. The seat tracks for my 73 Barracuda are only controlled by the seat track lever on the outer edge of the seat.

@7DCUDA383A Check the orientation your tracks. It looks like one is on backwards. Here’s a set of 70 e-body seats with correct set up.

This lever should be under the seat bottom, not on the outside.

Just another part on wrong , this car has been so much trouble with mismatched parts or wrong bolts , thanks Floyd , also what part is this , did not see this . Is it on both or just one .

That is a small flat metal piece that adds tension to the release cable. It’s attached to an adjustable e-bolt anchored to the seat frame. Megaparts has those too.

I only needed one on the P/S bucket.
