should my cuda have a 150 mph speedo

Hey guys,my 72 340 cuda has a 120mph speedo and I was wondering if that was something routine or should it have the 150mph from factory?I'm new to the fine details of the e bodies.I always thought the cudas had a 150mph but from year to year I'm lost.

The Rallye gauges had a 150mph speedo. The standard gauges had a 120mph speedo. The Rallye gauges were standard in the Rallye Challenger but optional on a Cuda.

Here is a picture of a standard gauge cluster on a 70 T/A. Is this what yours look like?

Yeah thats what mine looks like,so it was an option.

So J97 is the option code.I dont show j97 but I have in the j9- slot a "1" which would be j91 but I cant find j91 on any of the decoders.Anyone know what that might mean?I have j15,j31,j54 and j91.My car does have a spoiler on it which is j81 anyone think it was marked in the wrong spot?

There were no spoilers available from the factory on any E-body 72-74.

Does you Cuda have one trunk torsion spring or two? There is a discussion on another site about it so I was just curious.

One torsion rod on mine.I do not have j81 marked on my build sheet I just noticed j81 was

and the spoiler looks about 1" lower to me compared to other mopars and the sloped edges are to the back like a go wing and it seems thick like one also.The gull wing is thinner and slopes are in the front if I'm correct.Mine has stored bought bolts so it looks self installed but the other bolts could have been damaged before the repaint.I'm not saying this is factory because I dont know I'm just trying to find out what was and wasn't factory.Also what j91 is that one is strange.If someone can read there build sheet can you tell me what is in the j9- box mine has spring rust right across that spot where the words are so I cant read it.

Do you have a fender tag? You could post the codes if you want. You don't have to post the entire VIN. Not all the buildsheet codes are on the tag but you can still get a lot of info from it.
