Spring under console linkage

Hi all, the attached photo of a spring is from linkage under center console. I researched the car manuals but could not find a blow up view of what it is and how to be attached. 73 Challenger 904 AT.

Check Finoke's picture. At the very front of the shifter rod. That's where it goes. Part of the shifter mechanism in the car.

Adds some tension/cushion to the shifter movement. The spring seems kind of wonky when you install it. Barely sits in there but it works.
