Hey guys I know this has been covered before but I wanted to see what everyone thinks about a particular modification to a 1970 U code 440-4 barrel Cuda. No matching numbers drive train. What is your guys take on installing a 5 speed Manuel trans into an original 3 speed auto? It would be a Legend 700 5 speed. I have installed one in a B-body. The floors and trans crossmember will need to be shaved a bit but I never cut out the cross-member completely. I would also have to add a hole to the firewall for the hydraulics for the throw out bearing. So what are you guys thoughts? Keep it a 727 3 speed or go 5 speed Manuel. I only ask because this is an uncommon car.

I have not seen the conversion to 4 or 5 speed hurting a cars value unless the car is a survivor or a numbers matching, date code correct car. Store everything that comes off of the car. That way if you sell the car in the future you can include all original pieces.
