So i changed the front end from drum to disc, using SSBC system. also changed the upper control arm to a QA-1, and got the tie rods in the kit. I saved the sleeve to reuse and measured the combined length of each side of tie rods. when I went to put the new ones on, there wasn't enough thread in the sleeve for my comfort level. Almost like the old rods had longer threads than my new ones, but I tossed the old ones before I could compare them. Anybody run into this?

So... you're saying that the threads on the tie-rod ends exceed the capacity of the tie rod? As if the tie rod ends are too long?

The minimum safe engagement is 1.5x the diameter , I would prefer at least 2x , use a longer tierod end !

Thank You for all your information and help. I think the new tie rods dont match the sleeve. I need the longer sleeve or I need to replace the new tie rods. Better now than if the engine was in anyway.
