Hey guys,
So I went to change my tranny fluid and found the rooster comb detent ball at the bottom of the pan. I removed the valve body, placed the ball back behind the spring and put everything back. I went to drive it and now It won't get out of first.
I'm pretty familiar with the kickdown lever and adjusting the rod. Still nothing. Then I realized this clue - the kickdown lever gets pushed by the rod very smoothy when the engine is off (as designed, and smooth when the rod is disconnected and I twist it by hand) ...BUT with the engine running the kickdown lever is somewhat jerky and pretty hard to move (definitely not smooth at all).
The trans ran perfectly before pulling the valve body (shifted to 2nd around 13mph), downshifted if I needed to pass, etc. Zero issues with the tranny.
Clearly, I did something. I'm guessing debris got inside the valve body maybe while I had it out? I never opened up a valve body so trying to see if I missed something else.
Thanks in advance,
Pete
