Wondering if someone can help me with what color the turn signal indicators were from the factory on a '70 Challenger R/T. I see a lot of cars with body color but seems like most of the new sets you can buy are chrome? Would appreciate any feedback. Thanks

They were not available on RTs or 340 Challengers (A66 cars), however that said I have seen them both ways but I suspect they were chrome originally.

On my survivor challenger they do have original paint on them. So I am pretty sure they came that way.

I know that they were a part of the AO1 light group, however as I noted they were not supposed to be installed on RTs or 340 cars. I am sure this was due to the rally hood which makes seeing them difficult. My 70 RT has the AO1 light group but no fender mounted turn signals.

Mine was purchased new and they came painted FF4. A friend of mine also had a SE model new in Go Mango Orange but his came with chrome ones, so they came both ways but pretty sure not available on R/T models.

My 70 Challenger convertible will be getting chrome ones, only because I bought them used. My car is not meant to be "accurate", it is what I will call a T/A "wanna be", T/A hood, exhaust, 340 6pk and T/A stripe without "T/A" in it. One thing to note is the placement on the fenders, I recall they are different mounting locations for different years.

I have a 73 Rallye car with a 340 and the bulge hood. It has these, and I believe the L31 on the fender tag is for the hood/fender mounted signal indicators. And they are chrome.

If they are like the ones on the cuda, you could order them body color or chrome from the factory, your choice.

My car is also a T/A wannabe. '70 convertible, 340 6 bbl. Triple black, 15" magnum 500's. I have a R/T hood for it but I'm pretty sure it won't clear the air cleaner. Probably have to get one of those T/A snorkel hoods.

Cool. I was told a R/T (ralley) hood would have enough room for the 6 pack, I haven't seen one yet to verify.

6 packs will fit under a ralley hood .
I believe the painted lights were only available in 70-71 , only chrome after 71 .
