Finally got around to reinstall my solid roller bb stroker with Trickflow 240 heads. I’m using fabricated aluminum valve covers (3.5”) and now the v/c is touching the brake booster.
It was close with Edelbrock RPM’s but, no problem removing the v/c.
Was hoping someone had run into this before. I don’t want to run the factory on this set but….
Do you guys know if the factory v/c will clear Hughes roller rocker’s?

Currently has Wilwood front disc brakes, I could do away with p/b’s but really like how they work on my set up.

Appreciate any info you can share,

Thanks guys, I’m gonna look into the options.
if I were a good enough fabricator (not), there wouldn’t be an issue.

Hydrobosst systems are awesome , better assist than vacuum but not cheap .
I bet factory cover would clear the rockers , , the only rockers I had problems with clearance was Isky Solid rockers .

Thanks for that information Chryco.
Been kicking around the hydro boost as I’m not sure how much vacuum this set up will make anyway.
Thanks again!

If you have power steering now then hooking up Hydroboost is the choice I would choose

Definitely looking like the best option at this point.
Thanks

Just take that v/c to a professional welder and have a large enough divot cut out and welded in.
Thanks Cuda Hunter, that thought went through my mind as well. I’d really like both to look the same. Appreciate your thoughts.

just sharing some info. I think this MP valve cover will work. It’s tight on the ends where the stand is but, gently pushed it down without a gasket. Rolled the motor a couple of times and nothing is touching.
And they are baffled.

Obviously the stamped steel are thinner and more prone to leakage as they flex more, but if you use a high quality (expensive) gasket and sticky adhesive, that should work well!

Side story, I was driving my 70 Challenger between college and home (about 290 miles one way), I had a leaking valve cover gasket dripping into the passenger exhaust manifold and smoking like a house fire! Was stopped in a road construction site behind a diesel pusher. The lady came around and saw it was my car smoking and yelled to her husband driving the RV, "It's his car behind us and not us!" 😂

Ha! Good story.
Yea, that’s my biggest concern. I have rubber Felpro and cork. The cork fit fine on the cover but, I’ll have to do some light trimming in two corners on the rubber gaskets.
