vin stamping on engine

I m looking at purchasing a new car to restore ,did find this one but I m not sure if the engine vin number stamping is ok and normal, it is matching but to me looks weird and uneven
if anyone have idea about it please let me know

Needs some cleaning and a really good inspection.

What year car is this? LE117834 ?

it is 1971. the number match but stamping looks uneven and some numbers are not in line, dont know if that is normal or seller is trying to make it number match by him self

Is the trans alleged to be numbers matching too? If so how do the 2 stamps compare to each other?
This one certainly doesn’t look right to me.

I do agree that the first digit as a number 1 looks odd ?
as the others have said - you may have the clean - lighty for a closer look
to see if all the number 1 s look the same -
those number 1s may be too wide on the bottom ?

IMHO - I'm going to say it's OK. Those semi-circular milling marks on the block (or whatever they're called) are original, I believe, many times those get ground down to a blank pad before someone tries to re-stamp the block and then that's an easy tell. The last few of the VIN look good, the front few look more iffy but the odds of someone finding even a semi-matching block and altering some of the letters & numbers is remote. Again all IMHO.

I have seen a few restamps that were made on similar stampings.
They show what this looks like, enlarged numbers next to regular numbers.
Not saying this is the case on this number.
A good cleaning might show if those numbers were placed on top of another number.
The 9 being so light compared to all the other numbers is the oddity in my eye.
Why is there one light one and multiple heavy heavy stamps.
Trans might help with the mystery.

it is from 1971 charger rt 440 so its nice car but if not number mach then I don't thing its worth the money
