If you're looking for an original 1970-71 K-frame with the 440 skid plate, they are hard to find. And pricey, I've seen them go for $600+

You can buy just a skid plate and have it welded into place on the K frame you got. After it's painted, it will look pretty much the same.

Aside from the extra hardware near the motor mounts, I believe the K frames are pretty much the same between small and big block, 1970-1974 E-bodies. Exceptions being, of course, for the /6 and Hemi.

This one came from a 74 Challenger with a small block. Same as big block. I sold the sway bar and brackets from this one so no longer have. Only as shown in pics.

@cudaal Are you planning on converting the K frame to hemi mounts then?
If your converting to hemi mounts and adding a skid plate then a 70 doesn't really change much.
Converted is converted so a 71-74 should work fine.

Date code does change though. I get looking for 70. I am doing the same search.

There is a 1970 k frame with the reproduction plate welded on already, listed on Craigslist in Grand Blanc Michigan. He's asking $400. Like someone else said, shipping can be a deal breaker. For somebody to buy something big and heavy, I would recommend using Fastenal. They ship store to store, so it's dropped off at one location and picked up at the other. I did a large John Deere mowing deck and it cost just over $100.
