hi folks. I have a 70 cuda I think I will be selling soon. It’s a 440 u code. No engine but has a numbers matching 4spd 18 spline trans. Was originally a Dana 60 car but currently has 8 3/4.

So here’s the story. Original owner in the 70’s hit a pole. He had it fixed by getting a front half of a 72 cuda. It was repaired then later got in another accident. Car is basically a rolling body with bucket seats and the 4spd trans with shifter and handle and the gauges with complete dash that looks like new and when I say new I mean like it left the factory yesterday. Owner kept it wrapped since removed. Was removed in the 70’s when the car was wrecked the 2nd time. Car is straight. Frame is straight but like I said front half is a 72. I found the original owner who sold me the original front half. And the trans which I currently have. The current front half was an automatic so it doesn’t have the 4spd tunnel. Also no fender tag. He remembers removing it but no luck finding it. He made me a list of the options it came with and hand signed it. I have documentation (old title and registrations) with his name on it. I assume with the documentation and his signed paper with options list would be sufficient for future owner to get a new fender tag made.

Ball park price? I don’t want to sell it cheap. I know it’s rare given it’s a 440-4 Spd Dana car originally but then again it’s got it’s story and corrections needed. I included pictures of its current state and some the original owner sent me from when it was wrecked back in the day. I do have the other fender.

Post some pics under the hood and of the undercarriage
Don’t have any under the car but it’s solid and straight. However I will be taking some the week I list it for sale. Possibly next week.

Looks like the 73 body with a 70 tail light panel. Have you checked the body numbers to see if they are the same as the VIN? The core support looks newer than 1970.

I bought the car off I think the 4th owner and found the original he told me the story of the car. It is a 70. Even has the original plates pictured still. Has the dash with the numbers matching vin. The door still has the original vin sticker also. It is a 70. I have the front half of the car that’s original to this. It is a real 70. Like I said in the description above the front half was replaced with a 72 body the first time it was wrecked. Paper work and license plates also match.

Man this seems like a tough sale... I almost think with all the "quirks" it has I would sell the 18 spline and instrument cluster (assuming rally) as those teo items fetch good money... and then sell the car as a roller... it doesnt have an engine and gooooood luck finding the original plus with no fender tag... numbers matching car is out the window...

Front half? I see one brake pedal, no clutch, auto shifter…. 18 spline numbers matching to what? Where was this car cut? I would be concerned with how it was welded together thru the floor, supports, rockers, and roof. If those areas were done well then I think the car could be the foundation for a restomod. I think the value as an original 440 U code is long gone. It still needs floors and a trunk pan, minimum. I wish you luck.

Thats a big project to say the least, its worth the sum of its parts. Personally I wouldn't give $3K for it, but thats me. I've seen really bad cars on eBay trying to sell for $5 or even $10K, so who knows.

@Luis9995 see if your Vin matches the numbers in these locations. I'll bet they don't match. You most likely have a 1970 VIN on a newer, 1971 - up body. The core support, shifter, and inner fender are a few differences.

So the car was cut in half? And wrecked again ? So was a salvage at best if fixed correctly. Who did original car splice ? Home job ? Certified job? Title ? Numbers matching trans, nothing else...
Sounds like just a parts shell. No other value. Would cost many times actual value to put back right and would still be a salvage.
Stories are just that...

@Luis9995

What is the vin on the dash and door sticker. Could you please post a picture of each.
Please post pictures of the vin stamp on the cowl and the radiator support.
Is there any original interior that can be taken apart in hopes of a build sheet? Front seats.

More pictures please.
