1970 AAR cuda

original motor gone, now 360 6 pack, car looks 80% their, floors and trunk gone - super swiss cheese , has original interior, pretty rotten, console shift car no fender tag. the door, cowl, rad support, dash vin tags correct/matching and are on the car . dunno about broadcast sheet, guessing it may still be inside the seat

rally dash, none running

10k?

8k tops. Then ship it to US Car Tool for the body in white program. $17k and you'll have a wonderful car.

If I really wanted it, I wouldn't miss it for the sake of 2 grand.
What is 2 Gs nowadays?

Joe,
what is the VIN? Do you have a photo of the car? I ask because the seller is asking 10K for an AAR Cuda that is missing everything that makes it an AAR Cuda. And to make it an AAR Cuda again will require a Trans AM engine plus all the other things that make that car special.
I would look for a 70 Barracuda with a V8(same cross member for the small block) and clone the looks of an AAR Cuda. Maybe you will get lucky and find something that moves under its own power and stops as well.

The missing fender tag will limit the value of the car. An AAR needs documentation to be worth as much as it cam be.
That said , if a build sheet is there even beter.
Good luck.

If the build sheet is there or most of the original parts are still on it you could get a new trim tag made. I am thinking AAR Cudas wouldn't have as many options available as other cars a lot of stuff was a mandatory part of the package. Things like console brackets welded to the floor would indicate a console, if it only has signs of 4 bolt holes in the floor being used to hold the seats then a bench seat and so on. Do some detective work and study other AAR tags and a fairly accurate one could be made.

i was thinking about that. i just struggle with 10k for a car that has a peak-a-boo trunk and floor

i know they are harder to come by. it just seems like a lot for a car that is going to need stripped right down

am i out to lunch on this?

also did AAR cars not come standard with the rally pack dash like say a RT challenger?

Lots of variables here you did not mention here. Color is big to some as well as trans. It could add more money to the finished value. Build sheet would add a lot. Find that first. I’ve got a green with green interior, console auto with all matching numbers with tags and build sheet. It is completely original with no rust at all. It’s been off the road and stored in a dry climate since 79. If I really had to sell it, I might push it and get $40,000. If it was a better color and a 4 speed, I bet it would easily bring $50,000. You’ll be upside down in a hurry on the car you mentioned. However, you can spend the money as you have the spare money and not all st once. That helps sometime

If your capable of doing a lot of the work yourself go buy it. If not you’ll have more $ in it than you could go buy a finished one for. Plus be driving it tomorrow.

Yes rbbruno3's assessment is right on the money. A lesson I learned back in the mid 70s; if you can afford to buy one that's pretty much done needing very minor stuff, that's the way to go. Plus you'll be driving it tomorrow! Usually if you are paying everyone to do a lot of the work, you can estimate the money that you think you'll put in it, then double or triple that amount. You don't want to wait months or even years to get a car back on the road that needs a lot of work and money. Your decision, and good luck!
