Build sheet is the only way to see what it was built with.

Many of the books that I know of aren't that good, and the good ones are expensive. But you can find pretty much everything you need to know online for free.

Dealership data book-
The 1970 Hamtramck Registry - 1970 Dodge Dealership Data Book - Challenger

Salesman pocket guide-
The 1970 Hamtramck Registry - 1970 Dodge Salesman's Pocket Guide

Fender tag & build sheet decoders-
Mopar Fender Tag, VIN & Build Sheet Decoders

Getting there, gauges just came back from being restored, I have to finish rebuilding the HVAC box and then the dash can go in, then on to glass & trim and finishing off the interior.
