So, as im not sure, will a Shaker air cleaner base for a 340 Single 4bbl fit a Holley 4150 type carb? Or do these things only fit the Carter type carbs?

If not, do they make a base that will fit the Holley 4150 type carb?

Thanks for the help!

As far as I know they all share the same throat size. I've had the four barrel air cleaner off my '69 Plymouth on Holleys and Carters both.

Make sure the holley carb is the same height as the carter or the shaker will be either too high or too low when the hood is closed.
If it is lower then a spacer will work, if its high then don't get the holley.

Cool. The info I got from the customer was 8.250" from the top of the timing chain cover to the throat where the air cleaner base sits on the stock intake/thermoquad setup. I mocked up a 340 today with the RPM head, RPM intake and a Quick fuel carb and got 8.250" So we should be good to go. I was just concerned that the base might not fit over the float bowls as the stock carb does not have these like a Holley based carb.

Good info, thats!
