Looking into the windage tray for my 383 auto with a stamped 402 oil pan , lots of different opinions , are longer bolts required with the molded windage tray , and also have read some use sealant and some do not .

I’ve used the Summit windage tray that is also a gasket so it’s one piece on my last 3 builds. Really easy to install, reusable and no leaks. Oh and I’ve never needed longer screws with any windage tray.

Most windage trays use 2 gaskets a sandwich the tray between , I have never needed longer bolts

In my experience with 440-4 in 1970 and 71, both (painted) orange high performance and (painted) blue low performance, the oil pan bolts were the same length, as far as I recall between those pans with windage tray and those without.
