Thanks. Since that's the case how do I know which I should have variable or 3 speed or are they the same thing. Thanks again

The connecting link and pivots are the same from 2 speed to 3-speed but the drive link itself is different as mentioned and the motor crank with pin is also different for a 3-speed/variable

Oh great maybe that's why I have major rub spots in the stainless below the windshield. Too much travel

If the rub spots are curved verticle lines, it is normal. The stainless catches the blades and gets scratched when the wipers go into the park position and hide below the hood.

Yet that's them. Thanks for the info fellas. This project will be lengthy and every scrap of knowledge I can get helps.this is my first E body.
