If you haven't done it yet, here's what you'll find under the top plate.

OK, well that switch must likely be what's wrong with my motor, since i tried the grounds. I assume that top plate can come off the motor while its still on the car?

Yes top plate can come off in car , but 2 wires are soldered to switch. But also could be one of the tabs on top face of the gear may be broken. Even if small potion of either tab is broke off will not park. So may need a new gear.

OK so here's my wiper motor. It doesn't have the standard (type) of motor the way other pictures here have, but I assume its an aftermarket? Or just an early model?

Does anyone know if I can get to the home position switch by popping that cover off with the two screws, which looks like it'll get the whole (cylinder) top cover off the motor?

That is a 2 speed motor - this thread has been all about 3 speed motors.
Thanks Steve, yes, it is 2 speed. Is that very different when it comes to the home position switch? And can it still be serviced attached to the car?

Yes, definitely start a new thread. You'll get more responses and more specific to your needs. Maybe something like: HELP - Two Speed Wiper Motor Not Parking
