They have 413 and 426 sized cast pistons in multiple over sizes. Below I searched for 413 pistons.

I took a couple photos of the 1970 industrial 413 block webbing as well as a late 78 (July 1977) 440 block so everyone can see the difference. Also, it's interesting to note that the 906 heads I'm going to user are 1969 castings that were originally on my 70 Challenger 383!

Ceedog, if you have the ability to sonic check your block, it would be interesting to see if it has 440 cylinder walls! I'm thinking these industrial 413s are very stout blocks!
It might be awhile it’s still together on the tire waiting on one of the other engines to fix.

Finally got some time with my son today to clay a cylinder in the 413 and then install the heads. I tried to show pictures of where to cut the clay to measure the minimum thickness. Got about .105" for the exhaust and .073 for the intake. So with the additional .020" from the Mr. Gasket steel shim gasket, we're good to go. Ethan liked using the old speed wrench to snug the head bolts. In one of the photos, you can see Mona, the shop cat, checking out one of the cylinder head bags.

We threw some more parts on it to get an idea of what it will look like when done. I like the Hooker headers!

It's going slow as it seems a million things are going on right now (house stuff, property maintenance, getting the garden ready, etc). But we painted the heads and block hemi orange. Should be good for ten horsepower if it was a Shivvy! Haha!

Finally got a free weekend where we could finish off the 413 build to the point it's ready to be installed. First thing is, we installed the oil pump pick up tube, the windage tray gasket, and 6 quart chrome oil pan. I think the Chrysler engineer who went to work for Jegs and came out with the one piece windage tray gasket, really it the ball out of the park! And 440 Source makes a nice baffled pan.

Then we flipped the engine back over in the stand and added the lifters, push rods and rocker arms. I neat trick my dad showed me (which I got to show my son) is using the oil dipstick to hold the push rods in place when installing the rockers! We installed lots of cam lube on the lobes and bottoms of the lifters.

Next, we installed the water pump housing and water pump. Then the fuel pump (I dislike having to install fuel pumps in the car leaning over the fender!). And lastly the double crankshaft pulley from 440 Source. The water pump pulley is temporary as I couldn't find the bolts that holds the Mopar Performance five blades fan to the fan clutch. That's about as far as I want to build the engine until we get it installed into the car, fill it with oil and prime the oil system with a hand drill.

Thanks Heminut! It's been a blast building it with my son, even if it's taken awhile! He's a fast learner and is definitely loving all the great things a big block Mopar offers! I think he only really disliked the mechanical fuel pump install (dang sliding push rod)! I would have tilted the engine on the stand, but I wanted him to know what it's like replacing the fuel pump in the car!

Let us know how that windage tray/gasket seals on start up. I bought that same thing for my 440 to use with my 6 qt pan and it looked liked those rubber "ribs" were going to line up with the edge of some of those indentations in the pan so I didn't install it. Afraid that I wasn't going to get a good seal. I really liked the concept though.

Will do. It seemed to squish the windage tray gasket pretty good when we torqued down the bolts.

I was looking up windage trays and this post came up , hows the windage tray working for you , Im looking to get one for my 402 oil pan , do you use any loctite on the bolts or is that a no-no .

I am using the 440 source windage tray on my 440 and no issues. No loctite on the threads. Snug but not overtighten is the key.

I hears good things about the Jegs and Summit windage trays with moulded gaskets , lesss work especially when its up on jack stands and not on a lift .

I have never done the dipstick trick to keep the push rods in place. Pretty good idea. I have always just stuck them under the rockers one by one.
