I am using the 440 source windage tray on my 440 and no issues. No loctite on the threads. Snug but not overtighten is the key.
Mine kept coming loose and falling out no matter how tight I got them. Then after looking in service manual it said to tighten so many INCH pounds, did it and they never got loose again. After 50 years I’m a firm believer of Chryslers specs.

I have never done the dipstick trick to keep the push rods in place. Pretty good idea. I have always just stuck them under the rockers one by one.
I use a stainless 1/8” welding rod, used to use a coat hanger but it bent so much
