I had a customer/friend of mine ask me if there were any fender well headers for an E body with a 440 big block. I have never heard of any. SO anyone know of any???
Thanks for all the help!!!
Cool. The info I got from the customer was 8.250" from the top of the timing chain cover to the throat where the air cleaner base sits on the stock intake/thermoquad setup. I mocked up a 340 today with the RPM head, RPM intake and a Quick fuel carb and got 8.250" So we should be good to go. I...
So, as im not sure, will a Shaker air cleaner base for a 340 Single 4bbl fit a Holley 4150 type carb? Or do these things only fit the Carter type carbs?
If not, do they make a base that will fit the Holley 4150 type carb?
Thanks for the help!
Ok, so i here it all the time, "340's just dont make good torque". Well thats true, sorta. We got a call from a guy. He wanted a streetable 340, but wanted some grunt and didnt want to go with a stroker.
We talked about this and that, he had some parts to work with. Some good some not so good...

Is this a Siamese bore block? And its a low deck 9.00"? Not a real good idea running a 4.00" stroke crank with such a low deck, the rod would have to be too short or the piston would look like a Hockey Puck. The best you can hope for is a large bore medium stroke engine and get around 410-417...
