I am installing a Howards roller cam on my 1970 340 . Howards tech support is not very helpful at all. Question , the roller lifters what direction does the V bar face ? Towards the block or cam. It appears that they need to be installed facing the block but the rivet hits the block so you cant...

How does it start ? I have three six pack setups two vented and one not vented center carb .Could be a fuel drip from center carb causing the gas odor .I sent my center carb to Holly for a rebuild and that did the trick ,my rebuild did not fix it ,they also flow test the carb .

It’s a split spring steel pin . A good punch and hammer normally does it . Try turn 180 and go the other direction !
