The Hood of the Car was NOT made by AMD. They did not have a flat Hood so we had to go with a different brand. The Hood had "crumple zones" so we welded metal strips to bridge the recessed areas and then applied a thin layer of body filler (over the welds) to make the repair invisible. The heat from welding those areas bowed the side profile of the Hood almost a half inch! It took a couple of hours to fix the warped incorrect curvature. We had to use a 1968 Hemi RT Coronet to remove the bowing from the center of the Hood. Lowering the car from a Lift onto the top of the Hood did the trick! (Pictured below) It took some nerve racking trial & error but it ended up working out perfectly.
Every gap throughout the entire vehicle is now consistent and within Factory spec. I will have pictures of the vehicle showing its complete gray color sometime next week.

Decide on a final color yet ? Wheel type or interior?
Rally Wheels w/raised white letter tires, tilt-telescopic steering wheel and a black interior with a bench front seat. Here are a few pictures that show a better progression of the Body shell. The car has already been block sanded and is getting its final paint coverage. I'll post some updated pictures that show it covered in Red.

^yes this^ and also where will you be going with the drive train? Factory type stock or modern improvements?
The car will have a 340 Engine, Automatic Column Shift Transmission and a 3:55 Gear. The Interior will have a Bench Seat and a Telescopic-Tilt (Chrysler) Steering Column. It will incorporate all "stock" components that could have come on an early built 1970 vehicle.

Here are a few progression pictures of the rear Passenger Door and the side profile (C Pillar) of the completed Body.
We just continue to keep moving forward. I am hoping by this next Summer.

Here are a few photos that illustrate some of the challenges we faced while designing the Door Mechanisms and Window Tracks. Since the Belt Molding was lowered approximately 1.5 inches, we had to adjust/cut the Channels and re-weld new mounting points. The original Window Channel (mechanism) was too close to where the Weatherstrip was going to attach. We used the original Front Door design for the Rear Windows to provide clearance that was necessary, due to the Belt Line dropping. After thinking through the mechanics and functioning of the original components, here is what we came up with. (Below) Ignore the "rough" appearance of the components. All of the parts will be dissembled and plated (to look like new) after the test fitting is complete. Everything works and looks Factory Perfect!

I'm impressed to your dedication on this project. I was thinkin....it would also be really cool as a police pursuit/highway car.[440 and AAR type suspension]
The car has come a long way and the appearance is every bit as authentic as a "real" Factory assembled vehicle. Every Door seam and all of the custom fabrications look Chrysler "original" as they would have looked if the car had made it into regular production. Even the areas you can't see were finished with the same discerning quality as the areas that are clearly visible. Here are a couple of pictures that show the beginning stages and the primer completed Body.

If I recall correctly it was originally red when Chrysler built it, with a 340-auto. Most 4-doors were column shift (no buckets or console) so that's why this first show car was built without buckets (they would have been optional) since you could get bucket seats w/console on 4-door Plymouth and Chrysler C-bodies at the same time. Also like the Fury GT in 1970, a 440 Six Pack engine would have likely been an engine option. I don't think the Hemi would've been considered for an option, since most 4-door buyers didn't go racing....

No my friends Dad's supposedly knew a guy who said 3 that were built. One may still be around but it was a body only and sitting in a field. It was stripped for its engine trans and rear. 440-4bbl car for police testing.
