70 cuda front end offset to drivers side?

Hello I have a issue with the front tire rubbing the fender up top of the lip when steering on the drivers side. The tire to the fender is different by 1" from the drivers side to the passenger side. I have 2 cars that are the same. Did plymouth offset the suspension? or am I missing something? Tires are 225/70-15 on ralle wheels.

Only the motor mounts on the K-frame were offset on Mopars.
Since there is no separate chassis it is likely that the car was in an accident sometime in the past. You can take the car to a reputable alignment shop, body shop to have the front uni-body/k-frame checked for square.
225/70-15 is a pretty tall tire compared to stock.

Pull both tires and measure the length (both sides, from bushing to ball joint) of each upper control arm. Inspect the mounting points of each upper control arm, compare from side to side. These cars are 50 years old, lots can happen. jt

If I recall correctly 205/70-15 is close to stock size. The ride height my not be set correctly.As mentioned check for worn or broken components.

Have you taken the front wheels off and compared them to make sure they are the same?

Is the overall height even on both sides? ie can you adjust with the torsion bars to fix it?
If you do adjust torsion bars do it with the weight off the front end - I broke an adjuster bolt many years ago trying to do it sitting on the ground

So I looked at both cars and the cam adjusters are pretty much adjusted the same on both of them that being said it appears that the drivers side adjusters are set to have the camber less on the drivers side. I am working on getting one on jack stands to take a better look.

So I have 2 cars that have been restored, one done more complete than the other. Looking at them there doesn't appear to be any " frame" damage camber adjusters are set about the same between cars.

car is level, the tire rub is on the fender lip

I wonder if there is a fast ratio arm on side and not the other? If it make a difference. Where on the fender is it hitting. very top or back. When is it hitting,When driving or sitting ?

camber adjusters are set about the same between cars.
You can't tell anything by looking at the cam adjusters, every car is different, and if the unibody is tweaked, the car may not have been aligned since the tweak. The cam adjusters really aren't going to tell you anything.

I would be checking the wheel offset first. They do offer rallye wheels in different offsets. it's possible one of the wheels were mislabeled.
If not it would be off to the alignment shop for me to see what's up.

Check the free stuff first before you bring it in. I run 235/75R15 upfront and my driverside tire will only rub on the inner wheel lip when backing up + turning right and hitting any small bumps un the road. My issue is incorrect wheel offset, need more backspacing

These cars were built with tolerances in fractions of an inch, not thousandths. Offset is not uncommon at all.
If you think about it, 1" total error is only 1/2" actual offset. My no accident '71, has 3/4" gap difference, side to side, front and rear.
I've measured/checked enough other cars to know it's not uncommon.
Even my, no accident, '02 Z06 has 3/8" more gap on one side.
It's not exactly desirable, but it's not at all uncommon.

Front set back is a measurement referencing a vehicle’s front wheels to a line running perpendicular to the vehicle center line and parallel to a line drawn through the centers of the spindle. If a vehicle has front set back, one front tire/wheel assembly sits farther back from this imaginary reference line than the other. Positive set back indicates that the right front wheel is set back further than the left. Negative set back indicates the left front wheel is further back than the right. Setback should usually be zero to less than half a degree, but some vehicles have asymmetrical suspensions by design. Front set back can be checked during a normal alignment and is used to diagnose collision damage or cradle misaligned , bent strut rod . If the cradle is adjusted incorrectly or damage is present, it’s not unusual to also see a reduced positive caster reading on the side with set back. Excessive set back can cause an alignment pull to the side with set back. 2nd and 3rd is 3/8" strong the way it was measured. pass side shorter.drivers side longer.

i would cheak the ride hieght on both sides the rim offsets and if i recall right the hemi cars had a bigger wheel opening than non hemi cars maybe a fender was replaced

The FSM has a chassis plot with key measurements to check unibody alignment/square. Dims are referenced to alignment holes. 2 person job but in 15 min you can determine the unibody alignment. Not unusual to find cars that weren't hit still out of square by 1 - 2 inches. Thats the way the assembly line worked..
