I am searching for the specific measurements and/or pictures for the location of the hole in the floor for the down rod.
'71 Barracuda 440 BB / 727 Automatic setup.
I need firm measurements to the center of the hole in both directions as well as the size of the actual hole.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

71Plym - That's the hole that I am looking for. Do you have any measurements for the location of the hole?

Sorry, no measurements available. That picture is from 2003 when I took the car apart. The car has been reassembled and the hole is no longer accessible.

No measuring needed. There is a dimple where to drill. Drill the hole the same diameter as the inside as the mounting ring.

dongei - My car was a factory 3 speed on the floor so it doesn't have the automatic tunnel in it with the dimple on it which is why I am needing the dimensions for the hole.

I would check again because they only used 1 floor pan. If it was a column shift they did no welding and if it was an floor auto they welded the three brackets and drilled the hole and lastly if it was a stick shift they cutout the floor and welded that set of brackets. look for that rounded area for the cut out ,if it's missing because they cut too close to it then there are sections on E-bay you may purchase that are complete and then section it in. There will be reference points that you can use for the correct positioning. There is a seller called " hemigeorge" on E-bay that will have just what your looking for. I believe all the information I have supplied here is correct.

Claudia, you need the section from an automatic floor shift tunnel. It doesn't just have a hole. The metal is stamped offset so the automatic linkage lines up properly with the transmission. Put the linkage on an angle and it may bind up and not work. I have seen three floor pans. One is stamped with the hole for the standard shift. Then the hump is welded on. The first automatic floor is shaped for and had the hole for the floor shift automatic transmission linkage. The second auto floor, for the column shift cars I have seen, have the standard shift floor without the hole stamped. Two floor pans were made with one stamped differently depending on the application; standard shift or column automatic shift. Also note that the E body front floor and tunnel is the same as 71-74 B body. The E body is not your only source for parts in this application.
