I am refinishing the metal portion of my dash and would like to know the correct paint and finish? Glove box ash tray and frame. Mine currently has a vinyl grain looking paint on it and is not real consistent. Is this correct or?

I have had very good results with SEM trim paint, satin black finish for my 71 Challenger dash metal surfaces. The metal surfaces were smooth and did not have a grainy finish.

I like this stuff :HOT ROD BLACK - FLATZ SLOW HR-FLATZ URETHANE QT KIT
it is a urethane paint with a hardener, you will not get that in a spray can... very durable stuff, and very forgiving to spray. $56. seems like a lot, but with a quart you can spray a lot of other parts, like the steering column, bumper brackets, blackout behind the grill, etc.
