Hi guys, I signed up on here ages ago, but haven't really been active. Now is the time to start using this forum! I've owned a '73 Challenger since 2012 and have been slowly tidying it up since then. It's got a fairly stock 318, but has a dealer-installed sunroof (it was a European export model) and a Rallye dash.

It started off looking like:

but now looks more like:

...with many interim stages along the way!

... I've done all the bodywork / painting myself to cut down costs (which is why the body is by no means perfect, but hey, it drives and looks OK!). I still need a few small parts, so I will be keeping an eye on the For Sale section ;)

See you guys around :)

Welcome to the site. Do you have any pictures of the roof, from the underside, with the head liner out of the car?

Welcome to the site. Do you have any pictures of the roof, from the underside, with the head liner out of the car?

That's an easy one, as I haven't installed headliner yet, just taken the rust off the roof, painted it with POR-15, and covered it with acoustic material! It's a manually-operated roof, and isn't like the ones you have in the USA (which I found out while trying to buy new seals for it). Some pics:

How it looked when I bought the car:

Panel by itself, showing the seals etc.:

How it looked after paint:

...does that help?

Thanks for the pics. I have a sunroof car with the sunroof out of it. Do you have pics of how it attaches at the sides?

If you mean the whole tray, as in how it bolts to the roof, I don't have those specific pics. It's probably covered with the acoustic cloth now, but I'll check later. I think mine would be different to yours anyway, with mine being a European dealer-installed sunroof?

Here are a few pics I just took - there's a bracket either side, kind of in the middle of the tray:

Passenger side:

Drivers side (bolt missing!):

Looking inside from the top with roof slid open:

Don't know if any of that helps?!

Thanks. It is interesting. The opening looks the same as U.S. while other parts are different. Do you know if it is an American Sunroof Company (ASC) sunroof? ASC started the sunroof between 9 and 9.5 inches from the front edge of the roof.

Not sure, sorry. I did find a supplier of sunroof seals in Colorado if you don't already have new ones, although they are the wrong kind for my roof.
