Cool story grandpa bro!

BTW - when I slip the boundaries of this natural existence, I am hoping to leave both of my show cars to each of our granddaughters. They most likely will sell them, but I will "Test the Waters," with both of them to see 'if' they hold an interest towards gearheadhood (Our 11 year old immensely enjoys monster trucks for some time now). If they prefer to sell, then that's fine with 'ole grandpa. Just as long the sale goes to a responsible, upstanding, gearhead that knows how to drive and respects the ride. ;)

To be honest, I had tears in my eyes.
If kids could know who we were!

Makes you think of your own car legacy, your children and grandchildren. My daughter is getting married next year, maybe grandchildren on the horizon?
Wish the younger generation had a stronger interest in cars. When I was younger, and working as a part time Exxon mechanic, we would always get young guys at 15 or 16 years of age coming in to the station who couldn't wait to get their driver's license and wanted to help pump gas or hang out and learn about cars. Some would be eager to learn and get brought into the "car" fold. Sadly, I don't think that tradition still exist? It is important to introduce the hobby to our young ones when they show interest.
Hopefully the younger generations have enthusiasts to carry on the legacy.

Congrats to you and to the kids getting married,
Tell them before hand, " have kids, lots of kid" perhaps a six pack! That's a good start.

In some ways, I think our generation could be responsible for the kids loosing enthusiasm for "CARS".
When my kid bought his first high performance car,
a 1992 crown vic. Interceptor, a de-commissioned police cruiser no less, he began to play hooky once in a while and miss work in order to take the cruser for a "cruise"!
So eventually, I hear about it and man alive, I lost it on him. I was trying to make the point that he has to be responsible and mature and on and on....
This was about 6 or 7 years ago.
Now of course, he has matured . I consider him to be an excellent tradesman and his behavior as sensible, for sure, what parent doesn't like that? but he now looks at cars as just transportation.
Yes , VERY sensible and mature!
I guess I didn't want him to be wild and free, or to make the same mistakes I made. what a pity!

Now, its me who has changed and I wish I had gone rip roaring down the highways with him.
Hopefully the cuda will rekindle the old flame!

Man, I don't know what will become of my 2 Mopars. No wife, no kids, 1 brother who likes the cars but would not have a clue what to do with them or how to maintain them. I might just have to be buried in one of them...
