You should be able to do it yourself. On my 72 Challenger, I had to insert the Powermaster starter while the header was loose. Once the starter is mounted you can secure the header. I assume you are using the stock steering gearbox. You'll need to check for clearance as you mount the header. I am using the Borgeson box which is a bit smaller than the OE one. No clearance issues for me. If needed, you may need to "ding" the header tube to ensure clearance. I did have issues with clearing the torsion bars because I put larger bars in (went to 1.03) so I had to clearance the header tubes. Not hard but had to take the headers on and off a few times to get it right. Welcome to hotrodding!
Thanks for the reply.
Yes, it's the factory PS box rebuilt and updated by Steer and Gear.
Been "hot rodding" since the 1960s 😁 but never too old to learn.

Well, it's a struggle. The driver side has been impossible to get in place so far. After the first try, it was clear the steering shaft would have to be removed from the steering box and moved to the side.
Try two - still can't get it all the way up and into position. It stops at the steering box.
I think I'll try unbolting the motor mounts and raising the engine a few inches.

My assumption (yes, I know) is, the only way to get these headers in is from the bottom up.

I have 1 7/8" TTI headers and had to jack up each side to get them in from underneath. You may find jacking the engine up a couple of inches you won't need to pull the steering shaft off.
