Does anyone know a part# for the rear shocks? Doing some track time and wanted to upgrade but not break the bank like I did up front. Stock height that may have drooped some over the years, just right for look i was out for.

My bad I thought about that when I posted I just figured because of the site... Anyhow its a 72 Challenger XV Motorsports up front stock out back Way more of a autocross than a drag car with all the sound deadening etc the car has. Not to mention the just over stock 340 pushing it around.

I have a new pair, that had zero miles. Went another direction with the suspension on my project. Bolted on...taken off. I'll see if I can locate them...

Bilstein shocks are incredible but when I built my Mopar not available like now so I installed Konis. The only advantage of the Konis is that they are adjustable. Anyway IMHO the Bilstein and Koni shocks are more $$ but far superior to the KYBs and other brands...

Just my $0.02...

Agreed run them on everything I own only time I haven’t been 100% happy is on my 58 Impala and that might be a spring issue just got the rear of that car sorted out in to the front. After my first exposure on the frt of my el Camino it’s one of the first thing I do to all my hot rods!

Don't forget QA1 shocks as an alternative. Bilstein and QA1 shocks are probably the best out there right now.

After all my experiments with shocks, my dually convinced me that Bilsteins were the only way to go with shocks. I ran 3 previous brands...and there's NO comparison, at all.

Yeah I noticed a big improvement on my GTO when I replaced new KYB with Bilsteins.

No spacers came with the Bilstein rear's unlike the QA1 only a reducer. How do you tighten them...?

Mine bolted right up I don’t recall an issue needing spacers the shaft size was correct not to tight or too loose same thing with the top the upper bolt went through like it was made for it.

are you talking about spacers on the top or bottom of the shock ? if you can fit washers on the; shock side inside of support on the top; i would do it the bilstiens chewed up the top support a little when i had them on

A typical shock Monroe, etc. you have the reducer or sleeve in the bushing but like the QA1's I had before these don't. As I mentioned on another post I liked the QA1 but there not for street use but did come with an assortment of flat and flared washers and reducers so I was able to make them work.

I expected these to come like a typical shock. I found a post on A-bodies that suggested a call to PST so I did and am getting another lager bushing but I'm not sure that's really the problem but they seemed to think that's the issue.... We'll see

I'm hoping these are comparable to my favorite, the Edelbrock IAS. I'm taking off a brand new set of Gabriel classics and there's nothing classic about twin tube gas shocks. They sucked when we put them on these cars when they first came out in the late 70's and they still do...

This is what I was thinking of... I called QA1 because these use to come in the sleeve kit with the shocks. There called 'rod end spacers' or 'Mis-alignment spacers'. The size is 1/2" x 1/4" thick.
QA1 #SG84 or equivalent. Only 1 will fit, can't find an 1/8"
