Door Soun Deadener?

Dad says he's sick of the "tin can" sound when he closes the door(s). What kind of sound deadeners are out there to give it a more solid sound? a google search brings some pretty diverse opinions and results

I used dynomat when I did mine... Works great but will cost you a pretty penny. Can get it at most audio stores

alright, I thought that stuff was just to cancel out road noise though? like on the floor pans.

I know on the A body doors I have been working on there is some spray on type stuff in there. Do E body doors not have that?

When dad had the car painted almost 20 years ago, he had to gut it all out I believe, so we're looking for a better solution this time around lol

I am building a drag car and just got done scraping it all out my self to save weight. LOL



Maybe some thing like rinolining or LinX would work?

Go to your local body shop supplier. Get a box of Q-pads, they're 6" square pads with a self-adhesive back. Stick a couple on the inside of each door. Spray 3M runbberized undercoating along the inside lower trough of each door, just make sure you don't clog the weep hole.

I'm gonna try making some calls this weekend in addition to trying to find another job lol

The body shops around me (and their suppliers) aren't very helpful and haven't helped in anything I've ever asked. I was looking for a place that did custom cut glass for the mirrors for Christmas and they all said "we don't do that" and didn't tell me where I could go to ask or where they went. anything I've asked them about hasn't come back with anything helpful. My best bet is amazon, ebay, or other internet sources. Someday when I open my own shop, I'm gonna HELP my community... lol
