Well guys my street/strip car broke just days before Drag Weekend and so I did some last minute stuff to my T/A and took it. I put 1086 miles on it and made 10 passes and two diffenrent tracks over 4 days. While the times it turned in were embarrasing, I did have a good time and it really allowed me to sort out the car and make it much more fun in the future.

Quick stop to adjust the clutch, this is the beginning of a few days of trans troubles.

So after many adjustments the clutch pedal went from nice and soft to a little tough to roak hard and no disengagement. After a few phone calls I found someone willing to let me use their lift to pull the trans out. The problem was the clutch fork came off the throwout bearing and bound the whole assembly up.

I purchased Quickfuels jet plate kits for the outboard carbs and made 6 jet changes over the weekend.

Hot Rod makes up a map with check points that you must follow. Here is the first one from day one.

Some dramatic roadside shots off the 10 freeway.

…and some pit stories with Brian Lohnes the official announcer. Turns out my cars home track from 70-75 was New England Dragway and its Brians home track too. He recognized the stickers in the window.

These are my new friends from Mexico (the orange shirts) they drove up from Mexico with a 74 Dodge Super Bee (Dart Sport here in the states)

On my way home 373 miles 3200 rpm at 78mph and 15 mpg.

And home 1068 miles later! What a trip.

Looks like you had a fun time and thanks for posting the great pics. 15 mpg, not too bad.

I put a set of 3.23 sure grip in it for the trip. I wish I had left the 3.91s but I was afraid the motor would expire from the extra RPM at cruise. The 318 in this thing is super tired.
