Fitting new AMD trunk lid

Looking for some advice. Attempting to fit the new AMD trunk lid into my original metal before I replace the quarter skins. All the rear deck, roof and rails are original.
I have the new trunk lid fitting pretty good. The only issue I is the back of the trunk lid to the rear deck. As you can see in the picture there is a low spot in the middle of the trunk lid were the ridge was stamped. Used a contour gauge and it shows the lid has a dip in the middle, so the issue is in the new trunk lid.
The only thing I can think of is cutting the skin loose along the spot, lifting it and tacking it back. Can't see of any way to bend up the back of the lid as a whole.
Any tricks of the trade I might try.

Even a swap meet used deck lid may not fit precisely to a given car. My first instinct, is you may have to tweak that deck lid to fit.

Take your time and think it through. But removing it, and using various sizes of 2 by 4 (just one example) to make a fulcrum and a setup, where you can apply downward pressure to the outer edges of the trunk lid to bulge the midpoint a tad bit higher, may be what you need to make it right.

If you're careful, and use several pressure attempts, each with greater and greater force, you may tweak this without going too far. And if you do, flip it over and tweak it back.

Go slow and be careful, but this is doable until a fat lady sits on the deck lid to tweak it wrong again.

Few replacement sheet metal parts, even decent ones from AMD, fit perfectly right out of the box.

I wish you luck, they ended up admitting they had a bad batch and had me destroy the lid and refunded my money. It became apparent they knew there were issues. You might reach out to AMD. But I would love to have your fit, I guess it's all relative.

wow thats rough, doesn't look like his is nearly that bad, I had a slight issue with a 68 charger on the sides ended up using a few 2x4's and a bottle jack. The weather strip seal should be installed or compensated for, it will lift the deck lid up.

Nice to know I'm not the only one with issues with aftermarket sheet metal.

you could do it like pschlooser said unbolt the trunk put a 2x4 under center edge 2 guys one on each side pushing down from each side.a little at a time. but first take a thin blade putty knife or something cut the sealent between the outer skin and the frame ..check your progress with the contour gauge .don;t undo the skin from the frame that won't work .
