I have a 70 challenger with a 360 crate engine that was described to me as a super commando with a purple cam. the number 53020006 360 is stamped on the block and has a plate with the following info 1993 (year?) 5.9L and part no. P4529784.

I'll be changing out the fluids such as engine oil, transmission oil, radiator, and power steering fluid. i'm probably overthinking this but due to its age, should i consider any flushes or particular oil weight or just the standard 10-30w stuff?

Thanks for any feedback.

If it is an LA engine, and not a Magnum, it is probably a flat tappet cam you should use an additive, or an oil with zinc in it to protect the cam. A quick look online will show you which oils you should consider.

If it is a Magnum it will have roller lifters and regular oil is ok. But I think the Purple shaft cam is flat tappet.

Depends where you live, too. If it's hot and an older engine....I'd bump-up the weight of the oil. Also, if it doesn't have synthetics in it.....you may find leaks when/if they're added.
